From my recent timekiller viewings. These contain everything that was missing from the franchise’s final sorry death throes, and to an even greater extent 2009’s dumb action reboot: good writing, high concepts if required and, y’know, some thematic meat. I.e. within a science fiction tradition as opposed to a ‘science fantasy’ one.
